چکیده
Aim: Although arteriovenous fistula (AVF) has been shown as the first choice for hemodialysis (HD), its superiority over central venous catheter (CVC) is still controversial considering risk factors. Aim was to compare AVF and CVC, which should be used vascular access in HD.
Material Methods: Patients were divided into two groups according use of CVC. The compared terms age, gender, body mass index (BMI), comorbidities, antiplatelet anticoagulant agents, HD sessions per week, end stage renal disease (ESRD) duration, treatment patency acces number changes.
Results: When patients grouped, 499 CVC group 235 group. mean age higher than that (p=0.010). difference between median ESRD duration statistically significant (5 vs 6 months) (p=0.004). significantly longer (p=0.031). their 3 months, while 48 months (p

Intravenous Regional Anesthesia (Bier Block) Method for Arteriovenous Fistula creation in patients with End Stage Renal Disease
Introduction: Hemodialysis through creation of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is an established surgical procedure for patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Anesthetic methods management for this surgery should deal with different risk factors such as hypertension, ischemic heart disease and diabetes. Intravenous Regional Anesthesia (IVRA) or Bier block anesthesia as an option for AVF...

OBJECTIVES THE AIM OF THE STUDY WAS: Is primary Arterio-venous fistula the vascular access of choice for adequate dialysis and better patient outcome in end stage renal disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS The present study was done in the department of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Sher-i-Kashmir institute of medical sciences, Soura, Srinagar Kashmir. متن کاملVascular access flow reduction for arteriovenous fistula salvage in symptomatic patients with central venous occlusion.
PURPOSE Vascular access patients with central vein (CV) stenosis or occlusion may have significant symptoms. Treatment is generally by balloon angioplasty, with or without stenting. However, CV lesions may not be correctable and when treated, tend to recur. Surgical bypass of CV obstruction is a major procedure and ligation of the access may leave the patient dependent on catheter dialysis. We ...
متن کاملPrevalence of infectious diseases in patients with end stage renal disease in Gorgan City in Iran
Background: The mortality rate of sepsis and pneumonia is higher in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients than in the general population. Bacterial infections are the most common cause of hospitalization in dialysis patients and the most common source of bacteremia is vascular access in these patients. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of infectious causes of hospitalizati...
متن کاملAortic Arch Calcification Predicts Patency Loss of Arteriovenous Fistula in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients
Aortic arch calcification (AAC) is recognized as an important cardiovascular risk factor in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of AAC grade on patency rates of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in this specific population. The data of 286 ESRD patients who had an initial AVF placed were reviewed. The extent of AAC identified on chest radiogra...
